The Northeast Public Sewer District was established in 1979 as a Chapter 204 Sewer District in the State of Missouri. Under this organizational structure, the District does not levy taxes, nor does it benefit from any state, county or local taxes. We are operated solely by the income generated from monthly service charges and from connection fee revenue.
The District is organized as a political corporation and has a five member Board of Trustees to oversee the proper management of the District. The Board of Trustees are appointed to five year terms by the county government.
The day to day operations of the District is managed by the Executive Director. This position answers to the Board of Trustees and manages and directs all personnel, financial matters and operational aspects of the District. The Executive Director is responsible for carrying out the directives and decisions of the Board.
The staff at the Northeast Public Sewer District has been proudly serving our customers in northern Jefferson County under it's current management structure since 1997. The staffing at the District is divided into four departments whose primary responsibilities are Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Administration. Each one of these departments are headed by individuals with a minimum of a dozen years of experience working as a staff member of the District.
Our staff consists of 20 full-time employees and one part-time employee. The Operations Department has four staff members, the Administrative staff has two part-time employees, the Engineering staff has three members and the Maintenance Department consists of nine full-time employees who are on call 24 hours a day to respond to any emergency that may arise.
